We have an active diving calendar, ranging from South Coast dives from the Club’s 5.8 metre RIB boat, weekend trips further afield chartering ‘hard’ boats, visits to inland diving sites and of course diving trips abroad (Red Sea, Mediterranean, Lanzarote and Indonesia have all been visited).
The UK now has several good inland dive sites – professionally developed and managed operations based in old quarries. The National Diving and Activity Centre – NDAC is the flagship site, and offers enjoyable diving for all levels. Early forays into open waters usually take place at Wraysbury, near London’s Heathrow airport, which has full facilities and is especially convenient as only 30 minutes from home!
Local diving - south coast
Local dives at weekends typically take place on the south coast - from Selsey to Weymouth. This year, the Club’s RIB has been based in Portland, allowing regular dives to take place without the extra task of towing and launching the boat. Weymouth Bay is a site-rich area and the boat has had a lot of use as a result.
A favourite area - South Cornwall offers more challenging diving, often with clear water!
Another well known place to dive with access to reefs, rocks, wrecks and the famous Eddystone Lighthouse!
